Welcome! My name is Marianna Lovato and I am a fourth-year PhD candidate at the School of Politics and International Relations (University College Dublin). I obtained my MPhil in European Politics at the University of Oxford and my BA in Political Science at SciencesPo Paris. My research interests revolve around European foreign policy, CFSP/CSDP, EU decision-making, negotiation theory and qualitative methods. My first peer-reviewed publication, “Getting your House in Order for EU Negotiations: When Domestic Constraints Condition Italy’s Performance at the EU Level“, is out in the Journal of Common Market Studies. My latest article, titled “Process and Position Power: a Social Relational Research Agenda About State Power in Negotiations” (co-authored with Heidi Maurer), is now in the Journal of European Public Policy. I have just completed a two-month research stay at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI).
